Reading Groups at the Museum of Care
The Museum of Care project, coined by David Graeber and Nika Dubrovsky, has been organizing reading groups every week since 2020. Anyone can join existing groups or create their own.
On February 2 and February 16, the Museum of Care will continue regular discussions on David Graeber’s Debt: The First 5000 Years led by Steve Bachelor.
Next, the Museum of Care continues diving into Roy Bhaskar’s books Enlightened Common Sense and From Science to Emancipation. John Mokry is moderating the reading group. Join on February 9.
Two more irregular meetings are planned for February. On February 8, they are reading Walter Benjamin’s essay ‘The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction,‘ and on February 23, they are looking at Ayça Çubukçu’s paper ‘David Graeber’s Anthropology of Human Possibilities.‘
Finally, on May 25, they will have Andrew Johnson discuss his paper Bureaucrats with guns: Or, how we can abolish the police if we just stop believing in them, where he develops David Graeber’s theory of police.
