Serenity is a project of television drama series set in the utopian brutalist estate of Rowley Way, London, from 2030 to 2045.

It depicts the daily life of an urban community that struggles to survive after a series of climatic and political disasters of the past. A dozen families made up of migrants and native Londoners––an NHS nanny, a biotech company engineer, a philosophy teacher, a construction worker, and others––finding themselves in the middle of a whole new urban environment with a shattered infrastructure and unexpected dangers. 

The audience can follow up on how families adapt to challenges and threats, including changing weather patterns, growing food, getting energy, producing necessary equipment, healing each other, and educating themselves. 

The series is closely related to the legendary TV-show: Star Trek, inheriting its optimism and the diversity of its characters. 

Each episode presents a mini-story opening with a problem (lack of clean drinking water, problems growing food on a vertical farm, and the lack of ability to produce insulin for a sick community member). But all the problems are solved at the end of each series, moving to the next one. 

The technology used by the characters plays a key role in the series: 3D printers, genetic tests, hydroponics, mushroom growing, new medical technologies, alternative energy sources, and much more. The technology used in the series will almost always be real, not science fiction (as in Star Trek). 

One of the key features of the project is to allow the general public instant use of the technologies that have been shown in the show.

This makes Perpetual Trek not only a quirky educational series, but also creates tension by linking it to the current apocalyptic debates about the imminent future we have already begun to experience due to climate change.
