On March 27th at 5pm London time / 1 PM New York time Hudson and Keen will explore the deepening crisis and discuss possible scenarios for how it might unfold. The USSR ended in an eruption of hyperinflation, which enabled a massive redistribution of wealth and the creation of a new class of oligarchs in post‑Soviet Russia. Similar processes took place in Poland, East Germany, and other countries. Could this scenario now be repeated in the West, or are we instead heading toward deflation like the one that followed the 1929 crash – a period to which our present moment increasingly seems to be compared?
