The talk by Nika Dubrovsky and Allastar Parvin was part of the 39C3 conference (Chaos Communication Congress) in Hamburg, one of the world’s largest gatherings of hackers, technologists, and open-source communities — a natural home for a project built around open, replicable, and permissionless systems.

Among other things they described the concept of the Visual Assembly as playground — a modular, open-access structure designed to host democratic, drawing-based collective thinking in public spaces. The playground is not a metaphor: it is a real piece of infrastructure, designed to be built cheaply from ropes and masts, replicated anywhere, and used by anyone regardless of age, language, or background.
